ANNEKE JAMIESON
ARTIST AND CREATOR
Anneke has always been an artist. From her early childhood drawings and paintings through to her current achievements, her creative talents have developed and evolved.
A 20-year career as a civil engineer in the Australian Army, has
provided Anneke with a depth and understanding of the competing
positive and negative perspectives of humanity. In particular the
power of individual stories: to collectively ignite emotive responses.
Anneke is inspired to portray visual stories, creating art which
connects intimately with people’s experiences. Many of her artworks
arise from inspiring conversations. A defining example of the
combination of her military service, and portrayal of military life is her
portrait – The Promotion – winner of the 2022 Napier Waller art prize.
Anneke is currently a full-time artist, based on the Sunshine Coast in
Australia where she lives with her husband and children
